But this was still not enough hence the opening of the Years in the Making gallery which allows much needed interaction with the public together with the close contact and inspiration of fellow artisans within the arcade. ere is so much more to be said but why don’t you go along, take a browse and experience the enthusiasm for yourself. David and Colin can be found along with 6 other artisans in the newly opened Shallowmead Nurseries Arcade in Boldre Lane, Lymington. So we get to the point in our lives where we reach retirement, but what is it? e answer is of course very di erent for everyone but the one common factor is that it is another phase of life and shouldn’t be wasted. is was the case for two artists sharing the ‘Years in the Making’ banner at the new Shallowmead Nurseries artisan arcade. David and Colin had successfully run their own businesses and were looking for new challenges. David Chisnall, a trained engineer, worked in metals but always had a passion for wood and had wood turned for over 25 years. Colin Lewis was an illustrator who continued within PR and marketing nally running his own Southampton based agency. It is one thing to hone the skills of a hobby and something completely di erent to be able to share that passion with others. Display and exhibit is the answer and both of them shared an annual show within Exbury gardens at the ‘Look Twice’ exhibition allowing them to chat with those who admired their Colin Lewis and David Chisnall, Years in the Making BEAULIEU WALK It’s that time of year again!
