Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, at St Andrews Hall in Dibden Purlieu, starting at 2pm. Meetings nish at around 3.30pm, but everyone is invited to stay for tea and biscuits if they wish. ey regularly welcome between 90 and 100 people to their meetings. e members recently enjoyed a most interesting talk entitled “ e Body rough the Porthole”, given by Steve Herra. Steve described a criminal case from the 1940s, including the statements and evidence given in court, at a murder trial. e audience were then invited to consider their own verdicts, before the real verdict was revealed. No spoilers!! At the next meeting on 6th May will be a talk about “Beekeeping”, and on 20th May, will be “100 Piers: Painting at the Water Edge”. Special interest groups meet regularly, including skittles, embroidery, table tennis, history, and gardening. Lunches are regularly arranged too. A new group, for anyone who enjoys playing pétanque/ boules, has recently taken o , playing on alternate Thursday afternoons, at the Old Mill, Hardley. is is a delightful venue, with a very pretty garden, and for their very rst session they were blessed with what was then the warmest day of the year. Art in Lymington Lymington Arts Group hold meetings in the McLellan Hall at Lymington Community Centre, New Street, Lymington SO41 9BQ, on the second Friday afternoon of each month (except February and August).
