You will receive a very warm welcome at the Centre, where their support volunteers are always available to anyone impacted by cancer. You will be given the opportunity to seek support or just simply be yourself within a relaxing, non-clinical environment, surrounded by people who have experience of a cancer diagnosis themselves or someone close to them. A variety of services are o ered at the Centre including wellbeing activities, support groups, complementary therapies and counselling. ey are experienced in supporting anyone who has been impacted by a cancer diagnosis, including patients, loved ones and carers. What’s on in May: Zoom with Ann every Wednesday at 6.15pm. Art with Julie Monday 5th May. Cakes4Cancer Tuesday 6th May - Host a tea party at home, hold a bake-o at work or run a bake sale in your local community. ey will have cakes in the centre to raise funds, so please go along to help support Wessex Cancer Support in supporting people a ected by cancer. Each memory will also have an associated pattern of behaviour, and can trigger an emotional response without your conscious awareness. Community First Wessex understand that not everyone is con dent walking on their own in the New Forest or indeed, would want to walk alone. eir new Solos’ walk is a medium paced walk in the Ashurst area on the first Saturday of the month. Walking in beautiful natural environments has numerous bene ts for physical and mental health, including reducing stress levels, improving mood, and increasing physical activity. e walks will be led by experienced leaders and will last approximately 90 minutes. The Kettle is Always On Testwood Baptist Church’s monthly Bereavement Café is held in the lounge at M Johnson Family Funeral Directors, 26-28 Commercial Road, Totton. e Café is run on a ‘drop-in’ basis between 1pm and 2.30pm on the second Monday of each month and is not designed to be a counselling session. Visitors to the Café will receive a warm welcome and a supportive environment for reflection and conversation; a place to nd mutual support and encouragement. e kettle is always on with tea, co ee and a variety of cakes (including a gluten-free option) served by a friendly team of volunteers.
