On joining Calshot RNLI, Di soon worked her way up to become one of the boat crew, remaining as a crew member for 18 years serving on Calshot’s All Weather Lifeboats, as well as Inshore Lifeboats. In 2012 she became a Launch Authority and continued to support the station to safely coordinate boat launches and rescues with the crew. is was vital as the station transitioned to new inshore lifeboats. Following this she became the Lifeboat Operations Manager, and held this role for 6 years, ensuring the station was run according to RNLI standards and to help save lives at sea in the Solent. On stepping down from her role as Lifeboat Operations Manager, Di has continued to work tirelessly to help the station, continuing in her role as Launch Authority as well as acting as shore crew and Head Launcher. “We are very grateful for Di’s support, time and energy over so many years. She’s helped the station through some key transitions and is an integral part of the team here at Calshot. The knowledge accumulated over so many years of service continues to be of immense value to the station.” Diane Carrier who recently celebrated her 30th anniversary as a volunteer at Calshot RNLI (Credit: RNLI/Library Photo) Success For Age Concern New Forest’s Information and Advice Service On 27th February Age Concern New Forest undertook an Assessment Day to renew their Accreditation of the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) for their Information and Advice Service. ey are very proud that they passed with ying colours in the following categories: Welfare Bene ts, Housing, Older People, Consumer and General Contract and Health and Community Care. CEO Teresa Blakey said: “This Accreditation is a great achievement for a small Independent Charity and is a great recognition of all the excellent work carried by the Information and Advice team, led by Coordinator Carol Marley”.
