Many insect pollinators are disappearing from areas of Britain and as gardeners, we can do our bit to help. Courtens Garden Centre, in Whiteparish, is restocking with plants for pollinators. Specialising in herbs, wild owers, fruit, perennials and fragrant shrubs which attract bees, butter ies, moths and hover ies amongst others. A special day - A Bee Bonanza - will be happening on Saturday 10th May at Courtens to help inform and encourage their customers to do their bit to help save the pollinators and make friends with the bees. Meet e Bumble Bee Conservation Trust, e Pollinator Pioneers, a colony of bees and a bee hotel maker. Bee and lavender products will be on sale and something di erent in the cafe. Growing Roses Bartley Horticultural Society’s next meeting is on Thursday 15th May for a talk by Glenn Duggan titled ‘Growing Roses’. ey are planning a visit for their June meeting. Followed on Thursday 17th July for a talk by Charlotte Popescu titled ‘In Praise of Apples’. On Saturday 3rd May they will be holding a Plant Sale.
