Snowdrop Place Hosts Heart-warming Birthday Bash Snowdrop Place Care Home in Hedge End proudly celebrated its fourth anniversary this week with a heartwarming event attended by residents, sta , family members, and special guests, including the Mayor of Eastleigh and cherished long-time resident Audrey, who has been with Snowdrop Place since its opening day. e milestone was marked with joyous celebrations, complete with cake, bubbly, and a lively round of ‘Birthday Bingo’ that had everyone smiling and laughing. General Manager Gemma Hicks delivered a heartfelt speech, thanking the dedicated sta for their unwavering commitment and compassion. “It’s thanks to each and every one of you that Snowdrop Place has become such a warm, welcoming, and supportive home for our residents. Your hard work and devotion over the last four years have shaped this community into something truly special.” e Mayor of Eastleigh Dave Pragnell joined the celebration to honour the care home’s achievements and to acknowledge the vital role it plays within the local community. A highlight of the event was a special moment with resident Audrey, who has been part of the Snowdrop Place family since day one. Her presence served as a touching reminder of the care home’s journey and the bonds formed over the years. Snowdrop Place care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Snowdrop Place provides residential care and dementia care for 68 residents from respite care to long term stays. Age Concern New Forest foot clinics are operating for local people aged 55+. They offer Toenail cutting for £20 or Toe and Fingernails for £25. The registered Podiatrists and Chiropodists are also able to give foot care advice and information on other treatments available. Waterside Good Neighbours volunteers can help with transport if required. CST is a proven method that focuses on stimulating various cognitive functions through a range of structured activities and discussions. It can help to improve attention, problem-solving skills, and counters the risk of people becoming withdrawn. e group provides support via experienced dementia group facilitators who have all been involved in looking a er someone living with dementia. It is also an opportunity for carers to connect with others who share similar experiences. e Memoryworks Co-ordinator is an experienced social care professional who has facilitated groups for many years. She understands that carers can be at a loss as what to do, when a loved one has been diagnosed with dementia.
