According to the Alzheimer’s Society, one in three people with Dementia do not have a diagnosis, and a diagnosis is vital to give people access to the care and support they desperately need. Each year the Alzheimer’s Society works with individuals and organisations across the UK to encourage people to act on Dementia. In Romsey, Greenbuttercup Dementia Services will be going one step further to raise awareness - by holding special activities throughout the whole month of May. On Friday 16th May we have received a grant from Test Valley Borough Council to hold a VE Day 80th Party at the ‘Nightingale Living Well Centre’ in Romsey. On Sunday 19th May we will be having a stall at the ‘Dementia Information Day’ run by ROMDAG in the Cros eld Hall, Romsey from 10am–3pm. Friday 23rd May we will be having a sing-along in the Green Room at the Plaza eatre, and then to end the month on Friday 30th May we are holding an accessible cycling session in Romsey with PEDALL. Greenbuttercup Dementia Services run regular activity groups in Romsey for people living with Dementia – usually in the Green Room at the Plaza eatre on a Friday from 10.30am - 12.30pm. Our usual activities are ‘Arts & Cra s’ on the rst Friday of the month; ‘Reminiscence Activities’ on the 3rd Friday, and ‘Singing’ on the fourth Friday. roughout the year we also hold other special activities and trips out.
