It was initially set up with a view to buying Saint Francis Church, Langley for the community. Unfortunately, this wasn’t possible, but a group of residents decided to keep meeting with the wish to provide opportunities for the Langley Community to come together. One of Langley Hub’s regular activities is to do pavement clearing jobs around St Francis Church and also along Lepe Road between West Common and the other side of the bus stop. e width of these pavements was very much reduced by the encroachment of vegetation. By trimming the hedges and sweeping the leaf litter back under the hedges it has helped to make the pavements safer to walk along. e trimming of the hedges also encourages them to become denser giving protection to birds and other wildlife whilst the leaf litter gives much needed food to the plants. At the same time as the clearing, any litter is collected and appropriately disposed of. If you live in Langley and would like to join us on one of our clearing sessions, please contact us via the email below. Our next Langley Hub Co ee Morning will be on Thursday 19th June, 10am - 12noon at e Pavilion, QEII Recreation Ground, ornbury Avenue, Black eld. Come along and join us for a hot drink and a chat. Our next Langley Hub gathering will be on Wednesday 28th May at e Langley, Lepe Road, Langley from 7pm to about 8pm. Hopefully see you there.
