Organised by Hythe Alive, this year’s Pirate Day will include even more swashbuckling fun. Pirates young and old are invited to join in the Pirate Parade from Hythe Marina to the village. Pirate Stilt Walkers On Thursday 12th June, Praizin’ Hands Puppet group will be holding a Taster evening for young people who will be in school years 7 to 13 (ages 11 to 18) from September 2025, so current Year 6’s are very welcome. is is for anyone who is interested in learning Puppetry and creative arts as a new skill and joining other like-minded young people in the ‘Little Hands’ Puppet team. e Taster evening will include having ‘a go’ with a puppet and learning some basic puppetry skills as well as playing some games and meeting the current, very friendly team. e Little Hands team meet on alternate Thursdays in Black eld and perform at various places such as Community Fun Days and in Church services throughout the year. Alongside their evenings of puppetry and games/activities, they have regular trips out. Praizin’ Hands Puppet Group is a local charity, based on the Waterside. Being a puppeteer is ideal for people who tend to be a bit shy as it is an ideal way of expressing yourself but with the safety of being hidden behind the puppet stage! No experience is needed as full training will be given. White School of Dance Hythe Children’s Cinema Inside Out 2 will be screened on Friday 25th July, at Hythe & Dibden Parish Hall in Hythe SO45 6AA. Doors open at 4pm, the lm will start at 4.30pm. Hythe Children’s Cinema showings are sociable, informal events, with comfortable seats, mats and bean bags provided. Refreshments are provided by di erent local charities and organisations each month to raise funds for their cause. Tickets are £4 and available in advance from ‘Meeple Play Cafe’ on Pylewell Road or on the door. Youth Clubs in Hythe and Marchwood e Handy Trust run youth clubs in Hythe and Marchwood, for children in years 5 and up, until the age of 16. e Youth Clubs run 2 sessions at each venue, with an early session for children in years 5, 6 and 7 and a later session for children in year 8+. Marchwood Youth Club is held at Marchwood Hub, Lloyds Recreation Ground on Main Road, every Tuesday during term-time. Year’s 5, 6 and 7 can attend from 5pm-6.30pm and year 8+ from 6.45pm-8.30pm. Hythe Youth Club is at the Ewart Recreation Ground on Jones Lane, every Wednesday in term-time. Year’s 5, 6 and 7 can attend from 5pm-6.30pm and year 8+ from 6.45pm-8.30pm. e Youth Clubs have a pool table, games console, tuck shop, cooking, sports, cra s and more!
