International Summer Fête International Summer Fête at St Bernard’s Church in Holbury from Waterside Catholic Parish is June our parish summer fête is a celebration of the rich cultural diversity that is so widely represented within our parish. e tradition of a summer fête in the UK dates to the Middle Ages, and now, as in times past they are an occasion for the community to come together in fun, trade, and with good food as we re-connect across a diversity of cultures. Waterside Catholic Parish is fortunate to have a culturally rich community and celebrating that is the central theme of our International Summer Fête on 28th June. We are particularly excited about the international stalls which will be hosted by parishioners promoting the beauty and richness of their home nations. Samples of national dishes and personal favourites will be available to buy from each stall showcasing Poland, Venezuela, Guyana and Philippines. ese are some of the nations represented and while we focus on the international aspect of the event, we also naturally will have the traditional staples of a summer fête; beer tent, BBQ, teas and homemade cakes, and tombola to name but a few. Free car parking for the fête has kindly been provided by Esso at the former Esso Club grounds in Long Lane, please use the gate closest to the Co-op. St Bernard’s is just a short walk away in Southbourne Avenue. Entry to the fête is free, and you are all most warmly invited to come along and join us for an a ernoon of fun for all.
