Open to all Minis, classic and modern, the theme for the day will be 60th Anniversary of the Monte Carlo Rally win by Mini Cooper S, AJB 44B, driven by Timo Makinen and club honorary member Paul Easter. Normally housed as part of a display at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, the car will be the star of this year’s show and follows on from last year when the rst of the three Monte Carlo winning Minis, 33 EJB, made an appearance. e club celebrates its 40th anniversary next year but, with the 1966 winning car controversially disquali ed, its sequence of displaying winning Minis from 60 years ago will be broken although, hopefully, will resume in 2027. Last year, the show attracted over 2,000 visitors. ere will be trade stands, trunk traders and the ever-expanding concours competition. Other Mini clubs will again be out in force with reservations for over 350 cars made by the end of March. Mini Cooper Register display at National Mini Day Beaulieu’s Custom and American Show returns on Sunday 15th June, promising another exciting day of motoring and entertainment. Held in association with the Solent Renegades, this Father’s Day extravaganza is one of Beaulieu’s most anticipated events, featuring hundreds of jaw-dropping custom and American vehicles, live music, plus special appearances from famous cars and even autobots. Riders will be able to park up in the grounds of the National Motor Museum to catch up with friends and admire a huge variety of bikes. Open to all types of motorcycles and scooters, rally-goers can expect to see everything from sleek sports bikes to mighty three-wheelers and timeless classics. Tickets for Beaulieu Bikers’ Day are just £10 per participant in advance or on the day. One of Beaulieu’s biggest and most popular Simply rallies, Simply Ford, is back on Sunday 22nd June, drawing hundreds of enthusiasts who can admire everything from Mustangs to Fiestas. Followed by Simply Land Rover on Sunday 6th July. Fans of the 4X4 get the added bonus of being able to try Beaulieu’s own cross-country course in partnership with Land Rover Experience West Country. Land Rovers equipped with expedition-style equipment can also book a spot to camp the night before the show in the Expedition Camping area and showcase their set up as part of the event. Bournemouth Bach Choir presents one of Haydn’s most popular works, his dramatic oratorio and choral masterpiece, e Creation. On Saturday 21st June City of Southampton Orchestra, 7.30pm. Continuing their focus on female composers, they open the concert with one of Emilie Mayer’s most successful compositions, e Faust Overture, which earned her a place in concert programs alongside her contemporaries. ey follow this with two monumental pieces of the orchestral repertoire: Elgar’s ever popular Cello Concerto and Brahms’ wonderful Symphony No.4, considered by many to be his greatest masterpiece.
