On Saturday 24th May Fawley Parish Council alongside Chas McGill MBE and Andy Headley hosted Emergency Services Day at Gang Warily Recreation Centre. It was a hugely successful event with thousands of visitors attending. With over 15 emergency services in attendance there was lots to see and do for the whole family. ere were live demonstrations on throughout the day, have a go activities for everyone to enjoy, and vehicles to sit in and interact with. SIX VILLAGES TOGETHER: BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY from Fawley Parish Council Nestled within the Parish of Fawley are six distinct villages—Hardley, Holbury, Blackfield, Fawley, Langley, and Calshot. Each area boasts its own unique character, from quiet rural landscapes to bustling housing estates, areas facing economic challenges to those with a more a uent setting. is diversity is what makes Fawley Parish so special. Recognising the needs of these communities, the charity Six Villages Together has been established with the assistance of Fawley Parish Council. While the council addresses key local matters, Six Villages Together is able to provide specialist support for initiatives that fall outside the council’s scope. e charity aims to make life better for everyone, but your voice matters. Residents are encouraged to share ideas on what improvements are needed in each area. Whether it’s providing more community activities, or ensuring better facilities - and even meals - are available for youth and children’s clubs, Six Villages Together is here to help. With its rich variety of localities - from the scenic Ashlett Creek with its charming boat moorings and slipway to larger estates in need of more recreational facilities - few areas have such a broad range of needs. at’s why local input is so valuable. Winning Mascot – the RNLI’s Stormy Stan Emergency Services Day In the Battle of the Mascots competition, 5 Mascots battled it out in 4 challenges to be crowned the Emergency Services Day Mascot; the winner for 2025 was Stormy Stan from the RNLI! Special thanks to Carpathia Grange for providing staff refreshments. Chairman of Fawley Parish Council Alan Alvey said: “It was a wonderful day out for the community, and I Horticulture & Craft Show Dibden Purlieu, Hythe and District Horticulture and Cra Show will take place at St Andrews Church in Dibden Purlieu on Saturday 26th July, proudly sponsored by e Noble Bee.
