Whatever events/activities that are organised, they take the time to create decorations and novelties to theme the sessions which make it so much fun. And as if that is not enough they always supply a delicious lunch for the members, be it a bu et, BBQ or jacket potato and always scrumptious desserts. They host the Christmas parties, and provide the most amazing delicious Christmas dinner, festive table decorations, crackers and a whole lot more. It’s always a lot of fun for everyone! e club feels very grateful that Exbury Club has selected Gateway Club as their nominated charity, and they have raised a lot of funds to enable the members to enjoy great social events and outings with their friends. e Waterside Gateway Club is a club for adults, aged 18 - 80+ with learning di culties. Since Covid they have not had a permanent home, and that is why there is so much gratitude to Exbury Club and the wonderful team there to enable the members to meet up socially in a safe and happy environment. Tools for Self Reliance Launches Weekly Charity Lotto to Support Skills Training in Africa Netley Marsh based international development charity Tools for Self Reliance, has launched a new weekly lottery to help raise funds for its vocational training and tool provision programmes in Africa. e initiative, which costs £1 per entry, will o er participants the chance to win up to £25,000 each week. All proceeds from the lottery will go towards supporting people in countries such as Ghana, Malawi, and Uganda to learn a trade, receive tools, and build a sustainable livelihood. “This is an accessible way for people to support our work, with the potential to win a prize in return,” said Sarah Ingleby, CEO of Tools for Self Reliance. “Our focus remains on long-term change, ensuring people can gain the skills and confidence to earn a living, support their families, and contribute to their communities.” e charity, which has been operating for 45 years, works with local partner organisations in Africa and relies on a network of UK volunteers who refurbish donated tools for shipment overseas. e new Weekly Lotto is part of a wider strategy to develop sustainable income streams and broaden public engagement. By taking part, supporters contribute to a long-term mission of tackling poverty through practical support and skills development. Players will receive regular updates about how funds raised are being used, including stories from individuals who have completed training and are now working as tailors, carpenters, and mechanics.
