Playing around the 18 hole golf course at Dibden Golf Centre, on Saturday 21st June Jo teed o for her rst round at 6am, playing into the evening until she nished on the 18th hole at the end of her 4th round, having played 72 holes in total. Jo was assisted by Dave Lowman (1st Round), Garry O’Connor (2nd Round), Sue Hallett (3rd Round) and Claire and Barry (4th Round). Jo Renyard Jo has already raised over £1000 for the charity with money still coming in. Well done Jo! VIBRANT FREE MUSIC FESTIVAL IN SOUTHAMPTON Tapestry – a vibrant free music festival is set to take over Southampton’s Westquay Esplanade on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July from 2pm until 8pm, with world-class artists, family fun, and local talent. New for 2025, Tapestry is a familyfriendly festival celebrating an inspiring mix of world-class artists and exceptional Southampton talent, from African traditions to Indian classical and contemporary folk music. It is expected to bring in more than 20,000 visitors to the city centre over the two days with its jam packed line-up and impressive headliners. Performances include local artists such as the Salty Sea Dogs – Southampton’s nest sea shanty crew – and renowned Indian vocalist Pooja Angra, who teaches at Art Asia Southampton. ese standout artists appear alongside acclaimed names from across the global music spectrum, including Penguin Café – a genredefying ensemble featuring musicians from Suede and Gorillaz, performing the world-renowned legacy of Penguin Café Orchestra with its distinctive blend of avant-pop, folk-tinged minimalism, and acoustic electronica. Renowned folk artist Sam Lee – one of the genre’s most celebrated and distinctive voices – will also perform, as will rising star Muireann Bradley, whose country blues ngerpicking is capturing widespread attention. Tapestry is part of Southampton’s Jane Austen 250 celebrations, drawing inspiration from her time living in the city and her passion for folk music. e event also features family-friendly music and dance activities, alongside workshops and creative contributions from local schoolchildren organised by event partner Southampton & Isle of Wight Music. Hosted by Radio 3’s Music Planet presenter Lopa Kothari, this is an event that will leave audiences with unforgettable memories. There will also be an opportunity to revisit festival favourites as BBC Radio 3 will record artists’ performances at Tapestry for broadcast on its Music Planet programme in August.
