Visitors to the stand in the Heart of the Forest area at New Park, Brockenhurst, found out about the rare nightjar bird by ‘talking’ to a model using an innovative AI technique to encourage people of all ages to connect with nature in a di erent way. ey also discovered its incredible migration journey from Africa in a collaboration with charity African Activities and Spud while making a model nightjar to take home. New Forest Youth Board members were on hand to tell people about the £1.4m YouCAN youth for climate and nature scheme, led by the NPA with partners stretching from Bournemouth to Poole. e scheme is funded through a Climate Action Fund grant from e National Lottery Community Fund. Families also learnt about the Forest in Roman times and made a Roman pot; Join the Community Energy New Forest Team from Community Energy New Forest Community Energy New Forest (CENF) is becoming a local co-op working to help the New Forest transition to green energy production through nancing and facilitating roo op solar and small solar farms where suitable. Supported by the New Forest District Council, we’re working with the public and private sectors to reduce our reliance upon fossil fuels and save money. If you have an interest in green energy, live in or near the New Forest and have time to volunteer a couple of hours a week, we really want to hear from you.
