Community First Wessex understand that not everyone is con dent walking on their own in the New Forest or indeed, would want to walk alone. eir Solos’ walk is a medium paced walk in the Ashurst area on the first Saturday of the month. Walking in beautiful natural environments has numerous bene ts for physical and mental health, including reducing stress levels, improving mood, and increasing physical activity. e walks, led by experienced leaders, last approximately 90 minutes. Families Matter run the support group which o ers cognitive stimulation therapy for people with early stage dementia. It encourages people to socialise and have fun learning and remembering together. Carers are also welcome to stay and have a cup of tea and chat to other carers.
