Both Shows have very high standards, judged by specialist judges, and received many entries of very high quality. We would like to thank anyone who supported and participated in these summer Shows. A lot of County and Village Shows have been around for over a century and we don’t want to lose them, getting involved makes it all worthwhile. Don’t forget that they have plenty of other categories, if you aren’t brave enough to enter a ower class eg. arts and cra s, baking and preserves, vegetables, etc. always something for everyone, including children whose entries are usually free. A massive congratulations to all the prize winning entries! Our own June Virril received rst prize for her beautiful wrist corsage and Highly Commended for her gorgeous summer pedestal arrangement. Lesley Morrow had Highly Commended for her pretty interpretation of “Mirror Image”. Our Honorary Member, Alan Catt, won rst prize in the “Candle light” class, which was in the Novice section, a very classy exhibit, receiving lots of compliments! Carole Norman, well-loved Area Demonstrator, won 1st prize in the “Mirror Image” category, which also received Best In Show! We are so very proud of her and I hear she “blubbed” when she heard the news! I am still awaiting results from the Bartley Village Show, sadly I was not available. I will report back next time. Next meetings: 4th September: Demonstration by Sue Wall “Reuse & Recycle II”, 5th September: Coach trip to RHS Wisley, 2nd October: Promenade (stations to practice), in house.
