We’re teaming up with local legends like The Store in Black eld and the crew at Gang Warily Recreation Centre to create safe, friendly hang-out spaces and connect young people with activities, advice, and support. is is all about young people – giving you more places to go, more people to talk to, and more chances to shape what happens in our community. Big News for Fawley’s Young People! from Fawley Parish Council Hythe Indoor Market As well as the very popular Hythe Market held on the High Street, you will also nd an Indoor Market every Tuesday in St John’s Church Hall from 9am to 2pm. e indoor market has been running for over 30 years, o ering a wide variety of stalls from local cra ers and sellers. e regular stalls include handmade gi s for babies and children, jewellery, homemade cakes, preserves and jams, greetings cards, wooden fairy doors and trinket boxes, wind chimes and more! You can also take a break from the shopping whilst you are there and enjoy a hot drink and a bacon bap or slice of cake from the café run by volunteers from St John’s Church. Next time you are in Hythe on market day pop along and take a look! Johnny Remember Me New Forest/Waterside U3A members meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, at St Andrews Hall in Dibden Purlieu, starting at 2pm. Meetings nish at around 3.30pm, but everyone is invited to stay for tea and biscuits if they wish. ey regularly welcome between 90 and 100 people to their meetings. On 7th October Brian Sutton, will give a talk entitled “Johnny Remember Me”, recalling the birth of British Pop Music - they have been promised a foot tapper presentation! Special interest groups meet regularly, including skittles, embroidery, history, and gardening. ere are lunch dates, which are o en fully booked on the day they’re announced. ere is also a group that meets to play boules on alternate ursday a ernoons, at the Old Mill, Hardley, a delightful venue, with a very pretty garden. e enthusiasts have continued to play pétanque throughout August; some of them even profess to understand the rules… e table tennis group, which plays fortnightly at Gang Warily, is actively seeking more players, and has resumed activity following a summer break. Anyone who is interested in joining this friendly U3A group is welcome to go along to a meeting, or to contact the secretary if they’d like to chat rst. Enjoy relaxed movie nights in a creative space, where you can take along your current cra project to work on during the lm. ere is no pressure to cra ; you can just go along for the lm too! e next showing is Hunt for the Wilderpeople on Tuesday 7th October, doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £6pp and available in advance from Fully Woolly, just o the High Street behind Number 15 Café, or on the door on the night. Art in Lymington Lymington Arts Group hold meetings in the McLellan Hall at Lymington Community Centre, New Street, Lymington SO41 9BQ, on the second Friday afternoon of each month (except February and August). Meetings start at 2.30pm and normally last two hours. eir next meeting will be on Friday 10th October for a demonstration by Harriet Riddell – Textiles and embroidery art.
