As a company which is striving to become the UK’s leading sustainable housebuilder, Barratt was keen to continue its support for e Southern Sustainability Partnership, which is celebrating its 10th year as one of the UK’s top sustainability initiatives on the South Coast. e Southern Sustainability Partnership hosts the Big Sustainability and Innovation Expo event, which is held every year and helps underline the need for corporations to prioritise the drive to net zero – a mission that is very much shared by Barratt. Dedicated to the reduction of the environmental impact of the UK’s organisations, this year’s event will see more than 100 exhibition stands, a hot topic speaker platform, innovation showcase and sustainability case study publication, alongside its popular show magazine for delegates to take away with them. e event culminates in an award ceremony which recognises and celebrates the businesses that are putting their best foot forward for sustainability. e company also run a children’s award, which works with local school to encourage children to write poetry about what sustainability looks like to them. Megan Hamlyn, Marketing Manager at Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton division, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting The Southern Sustainability Partnership for another year. It’s a fantastic platform for businesses to come together and talk about sustainability. It’s also a great space to encourage debate, ignite ideas and encourage change. We were also pleased to hear that the Children’s award will be running for another year. It’s a great way to get young people thinking about the importance of sustainability and climate change from a young age. Last year’s campaign had some great results and we’re looking forward to seeing more this year!” Lynda Daniels from The Southern Sustainability Partnership said: “The Expo is dedicated to supporting corporate and public sector sustainability and we were delighted to have Barratt as a sponsor for another year. Their support is invaluable in helping us spread the word about sustainability and encourage conversations among organisations and their leaders.”
