And it proved to be a hugely successful day for the club as senior member Les Jones achieved a hole-in-one on the 15th par three. His playing partners watched the ball y high for a slam dunk taking a thin slice of turf from the edge of hole, rattling the ag as it stayed in for a hole-in-one. Remarkably, it was the second hole-in-one for Les in less than six months! Les said: “I couldn’t believe it. Having gone from missing the greens to slam dunking the cup, proves that golf is a crazy game of ups and downs. It’s such a challenge and one of the reasons I want to keep playing”. Naomi Lowman (BHGC member) and her husband came second scoring 46 points with Lyn and Ray Dunkason also members of BHGC coming in third on 45 points. Instead of the usual single trophy, Division 1 played for the Tommy Trotter Trophy and Division 2 for the Harold Hewitt Trophy. The winners of each trophy scored over 40 points, well ahead of their nearest opposition: Division 1 – Tommy Trotter Trophy: 1st Ken Scott – 41 pts, 2nd Phil Walker – 39 pts, 3rd Chris Hughes – 38 pts.
