Although contestants get assessed on the quality of their preparation, judges are paying particular attention to how the dog is styled, the techniques used, and how the groomers have tailored the trim to the dog to make them look balanced and proportioned correctly. Contestants are also judged on handling, for which Morgan scored 10/10! By 10am it was scissors down to await the judges’ inspection. Despite owning her own salon and working in the industry for several years, Morgan hadn’t competed before so was in the beginners’ class – and took rst place. She was then up against some of the best groomers in the country for Best In Show – and she won! A fantastic result! Morgan Ware, of Holbury-based e Hound Lounge, has come out on top at a national dog grooming competition.
