A Mass was concelebrated by the Right Reverend Philip Egan, Bishop of Portsmouth, Canon Michael Dennehy, past Parish Priests Fr Pat Tansey (1989– 2000), Fr Innaiah Maddineni (2013-2018) and Fr Gerry Onyejuluwa (2018–2023) and Fr Kieran Flynn. Deacons Andy Philpott, Stephen Short and Diego Hoyos assisted whilst Canon Simon Treloar took on the role of MC and Deacon John Di Meo played the organ. Parishioners were delighted that Deacon Steve Bowler, who has been receiving medical treatment, was able to be part of the congregation. Community Centre, where Bishop Philip cut a celebration cake. A photographic history of the parish which had been compiled from archive material and photographs provided by parishioners, was displayed on four large boards in the hall and has now been transferred to the church. Musical entertainment was supplied by Cinnamon Jazz. Around 100 people then attended a party in the Totton and Eling The Jingle Ladies Raise £1000 for Oakhaven On Tuesday 23rd September, The Jingle Ladies were very pleased to be able to present a cheque to Oakhaven Hospice for £1000, which was raised by a concert they held in the summer at St John’s Church in Hythe. e concert was free of charge but donations were taken at the door. ere was also a lovely a ernoon tea with all the food and drinks being supplied by e Jingle Ladies, again just for a donation. ey held a great ra e with some local businesses very kindly supplying prizes to help boost the amount raised. e Jingle Ladies Leader Caroline said she was incredibly proud of what they had achieved and said it was the largest sum of money they have ever raised, which was fantastic for such a worthy cause. ey are now busy rehearsing ready for their Christmas Concert which will be held at St John’s Church on Saturday 13th December in aid of Waterside Cancer Support Centre. ey look forward to seeing you there!
