Obviously catering for the sher folk staying either for a day or long term, in addition to daytime visitors. No rats or vermin here as Broadlands Fisheries is also home to a contingent of feral and domestic cats, including a small look alike leopard (A Savannah Cat?). e following ursday morning meet up was at Whinwhistle Fisheries Café in West Wellow. Good view of the lake through the bi-fold doors, especially if a shing person makes a catch. Both venues cater for gluten free visitors hence popular with all members and their partners. Perhaps the club should include “nosh-up” in their title as it has been a recurring theme throughout the summer. Just to provide context, the bi-monthly club newsletter has included a 12 page article on a complete re-build of an A30/35 over a few years. Easy to take vehicles apart, but major work to re-build to a high standard, with major tea/co ee/cake/biscuit intake to counter one’s exasperation. ursday 9th October was an excellent talk by Martyn Davies on “Mixed Road Transport” followed by the Annual General Meeting to re-elect the committee and to say thanks to Diane, who has been Club Treasurer and run the ra es for 26 years. A er a quick discussion the 2026 charity was con rmed as local Age Concern New Forest for a second year running. Of more interest was a member’s Ford Cortina Mk2 V8 (Rover Vitesse), rst time unleashed. e Club meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Road, Netley Marsh, SO407GE, 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.
