Head of Fundraising, Michelle Bowdidge, explains: “We are a disability charity based in Southampton supporting children and young people with complex disabilities, and their families, by providing a range of direct respite care and support services. We are privileged to be alongside these families as their main support network, often for many years, and proud that so many families tell us we become their second family and second home, where their young person feels safe and loved. Demand for our services is increasing as we continue to support young adults while receiving more referrals for children with complex clinical and behavioural needs. We need to grow and adapt our services to continue to meet the needs of every individual, and remain alongside families who need us for the long term”. Sarah, mum to Liam who uses Rose Road’s services, says: “The future is going to be good for Liam because of Rose Road. Living his best life, he’s going out and accessing everything he enjoys. He goes off and comes home happy, you’re like his second family. It’s amazing to know you’re always there: Long live Rose Road!” Rose Road’s Christmas Appeal will help fund activities, therapies and experiences that support every young person’s physical and mental wellbeing, nurture a sense of belonging and ful lment, and build resilience. It will help them to support more families advocate for the care packages they deserve. It will help them to be there for families through challenging times of crisis by providing more emergency respite care. Generous funders have pledged to match all donations made to the Appeal this December up to a total of £10,000, meaning your donation to Rose Road would be DOUBLED to help raise at least £20,000 this Christmas! e Matched Appeal launches on Friday 28th November and will run until Christmas Eve, please consider supporting Rose Road during this time if you can.
