This initiative is part of our broader commitment to support essential services across the region, and we’re delighted to help enable an additional health service that will make a lasting difference.” £300 Presented to MAGGIE’S From Sale of Book At a low key presentation held at MAGGIE’S (Everyone’s home of cancer care) based at the Southampton General Hospital, on 26th November, Patricia Hedley-Goddard presented Gilly Howard-Jones, the centre’s manager, with a cheque for £300. is money represented the initial pro t made from Patricia’s 2nd booklet titled ‘Tales from the Graveyard of All Saints Church, Fawley’. is booklet tells the stories of the lives of ordinary and extraordinary people, both civilian and military who are interred within the Churchyard. e amount presented, although modest, will help support twenty people who have been diagnosed with cancer or are currently being treated or are in recovery. Patricia was herself diagnosed with cancer in December 2024 and with the skill of the surgical sta at Southampton General Hospital, the Team at e Oncology Department of the Princess Anne Hospital and the support of MAGGIE’S, has made a full recovery. Patricia wanted to take this opportunity of thanking the staff at the General Hospital, Princess Anne’s, MAGGIE’S and also the staff of The Herald, who so generously support the sale of the booklet, and of course not forgetting all those members of the public who bought the booklet.
