London Baroque Sinfonia will accompany on period instruments and local connections are strong with Andrew Hayman conducting and two of Winchester’s nest chamber choirs, Kingsgate Voices & Southern Voices, who will be joined by Winchester Cathedral Girls Choir. e driving force behind the project is Winchester resident Jon Newman, a life-long Bach enthusiast with a growing reputation for high-quality, authentic concerts. For those unfamiliar with the music, the Passion tells the story of Christ’s nal days as the drama unfolds between three main characters: Evangelist, Christus and Pilate, interspersed with some of Bach’s most beautiful choral music. Bach A Lovely Way To Start The Christmas Season All Saints Church in Fawley held a Christmas concert on 29th November. e concert featured two local groups, Burnt Toast and e Melody Makers. A great evening was had by all. The event was sponsored by Cadland Estates. Raffle prizes were kindly donated by Bell Furnishing, Holbury Hardware, Sam Long fruit and veg, Wendy’s Cafe, ExxonMobil, Fairweather’s Garden Centre and members of the Church congregation. Tesco also donated a ra e prize and mince pies for everyone to have in the interval. The Concert raised over £700 which will go towards the Church’s mission and outreach work. A huge thanks to everyone that attended.
