Residents and sta at Badgers Holt Residential Care Home showed their festive spirit by raising £757 for the Alzheimer’s Society a er taking part in a special Elf Day fundraiser. e care home was transformed into a sea of red and green as everyone dressed up as elves for the day, enjoying seasonal activities, games and plenty of festive cheer. e event brought residents, sta and visitors together, all united by a shared goal of supporting people a ected by dementia. Elf Day is an annual fundraising initiative that encourages individuals and organisations to dress up as elves and donate to help fund vital support services and research. Funds raised by Badgers Holt will contributetotheAlzheimer’sSociety’sworksupporting people living with dementia and their families. A spokesperson for the home said they were delighted with the total raised and praised everyone involved for their enthusiasm and generosity: “It was wonderful to see so many smiles and to know that our efforts will make a real difference.” e fundraising total was achieved through a ra e Elf Day fun at Badgers Holt featuring a range of amazing prizes donated from local businesses. Badgers Holt’s new Activity coordinator, Karen, organised the event - the care home thank her for her outstanding efforts. Exciting Lego Exhibition Coming to Hythe! On Saturday 7th February, from 10am to 4pm, St John’s Church in Hythe will host an exciting Lego exhibition. Local Adult Fans of Lego (AFOLs) will display their expertly cra ed creations, showcasing their creativity and impressive building skills through a variety of imaginative displays. Following last year’s successful exhibition, this year’s event will showcase a vibrant selection of entirely new creations. Attendees can experience the lively atmosphere of a fair, with bright rides and animated fairground scenes; explore a pirate-themed area lled with ships and pirates; and admire remarkable botanical builds, demonstrating Lego artistry with owers and plants. e exhibition also promises numerous distinctive models and unexpected delights, ensuring enjoyment for Lego enthusiasts of every age. e exhibition is open to everyone, and there is no need to pre-book. Simply go along and enjoy a day lled with creativity, inspiration, and community spirit. Entry: £2.50 per person, children free.
