To-date my mushrooms have been sent to many di erent countries, and so far we have managed to reach recipients in Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, Canada, France and Croatia. Most parts of the UK have also been reached with Cornwall, Scotland and Wales included so far. My mushrooms have evolved both in design and the variety of woods used over the past few years since the Shed began. e woods used in their creation include oak, pine, apple, pear, hazel, magnolia, tulip, hornbeam, cherry, eucalyptus, plane, chestnut and birch. These come to me at the Shed in many di erent forms, from coppiced hazel, from conservation contacts, to fallen branches and even chunks of wood rescued from the ashes of bonfires. Every single piece of wood used comes from the New Forest, even the beautiful, shaped by nature, shards of ivy used for some of the very small mushroom stems is New Forest grown and harvested. Visitors to our Shed shop and the Hythe Pier Museum will have seen the display illustrating the wonderful range of colours and designs currently available, making for a striking addition to any garden to a huge ten inch version. e heads are turned on a lathe and then meticulously hand painted before being weather-proofed and affixed to the stem. Our shop is next to the entrance to the pier and is well worth a look for something really di erent, look forward to seeing you there! or indoor pot plant. My mushrooms can be made to any colour and so far have included red, yellow, blue, purple, white, orange, green and n a t u r a l gured wood.
