At the Tramps Ball in October they raised a small amount with a ra e, then at the nal Christmas Club dance of the year they held a further ra e and a Christmas Cra Sale. Many Club members are ‘cra y’ and the sales table had beautiful examples of items for the Christmas Dinner table and small gi s for family and friends. ese included macramé, embroidered and button Christmas trees, decorated notebooks and pen holders, small fabric ‘crackers’ to hold a gi such as a small bottle of wine or chocolates, embroidered and handmade Christmas cards and many other lovely items. In total £400 was raised for the MND Association and on Monday 19th January the Club were invited to present the cheque to the local branch who meet monthly in the Club House at Totton Football Ground. Dawn Pond, the MND Area Co-ordinator, and her wonderful team of volunteers were very welcoming as were those attending the get-together with partners and carers. Large slabs of cake were laid on by the Club, along with tea and co ee. Margaret Weaver, one of the volunteers completed a 100 mile walking challenge in January for MND, not all at once but a gradual accumulation of miles over the month.
