Our aim is for everyone to feel relaxed, supported and confident about popping in whenever they need us.” A total of 15 people attended, including nine new visitors, highlighting the importance of proactive outreach within the community. Well over 100 local residents who have recently been diagnosed with cancer received a personal text message invitation through their GP practices ahead of the event. is collaborative approach with local NHS colleagues is important in enabling Wessex Cancer Support to reach people who may not yet have been referred through hospital oncology teams. Heidi Rehman, who supports patients across the Waterside PCN group, including Totton and Hythe, attended the event and spoke with guests about health and wellbeing services available locally. “Heidi continues to work alongside us to raise awareness of the services available across the Waterside area,” said Suzanne Bannister, Director of Support Services for Wessex Cancer Support. “We are very grateful to her and the local PCN group for their collaboration.
