Tackling was committed but the teams played in a good spirit and the Rugby Values shone through (unlike the sun). A er nearly four hours of matches with each team playing the others, the overall winner was Fordingbridge with Fawley a close second, losing by a single try in what proved to be the decisive match. Ellingham & Ringwood were voted the best TREDS team (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship). Trophies were sponsored by Watermaiden, a local water treatment company, and were awarded to both of the winning teams. e tournament laid the foundations for a larger event next season.
