The work is expected to take around ten weeks to complete. Parts of the programme will necessitate 24 hour working. In addition there may be a temporary increase in traffic movement around the Fawley site. During the work there may be occasions that the background noise may change and be different from historical norms. This will be monitored and steps will be taken to minimise background noise as far as possible. At the beginning and end of this planned activity there may be some additional flaring. This is a safe and essential part of the operation. We will be taking all practical measures to limit any inconvenience to our neighbours. Fawley Parish Council, working with the Fawley Mensshed, is also placing small displays of poppies on council land in and around the parish as a reminder of the members of the armed forces who lost their lives in the line of duty. e Fawley Mensshed have made the poppies as part of their sessions – the shed at Newlands Road; by the Scout Hut is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and ursdays between 10am until 4pm with new members always welcome. Some members of the Fawley Youth Club which runs on Friday evenings at the recreation centre at Gang Warily will plant the poppies along Newlands Road with others being placed at Ashlett Creek, Calshot and Fawley Village. e poppies will be in place from mid- October onwards until Remembrance Sunday 2019.
