Shadowlands is an intensely personal and moving biographical drama concerning an intriguing episode in the life of C S Lewis. Probably best known as being the writer of the Narnia Chronicles. Lewis was a Professor of English Literature at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities. In 1952 he met an American poet, Joy Gresham. e play follows their emotional journey and the impact it had on Lewis and those around him. JAMES KIRBY PLAYS AT BEAULIEU Music at Beaulieu’s next concert will be on Saturday 16th November when they will be welcoming the renowned pianist James Kirby for the rst time. James has served on the juries of several international Piano competitions, most recently in Romania, Latvia, Russia and Slovenia. He is in considerable demand for masterclasses and as an adjudicator, and is a member of the ABRSM examining panel, which has taken him all over Europe and the Far East. All the usual characters and things are there - Dorothy, Tin man, Lion, Aunt Em, the Wizard, a witch or two – and, oh yes, some giggly little munchkins and a pair of magic shoes.
