Appletree Careline is already used by over 2,500 people, and NFDC are keen to let people leaving hospital and hospital sta know how the simple pendant and wristband service can help when leaving hospital. Cllr Diane Andrews, Portfolio Holder for Community A airs at NFDC said: “Appletree Careline is a well- regarded service offering peace of mind and reassurance to people who may find themselves feeling vulnerable. It offers 24 hour help at the push of a button and means people can maintain independence in their own homes. “By using the lifts at the hospital as a new way to share our message, we hope to let people know that help is at hand when they, or a loved one, leave hospital. And the idea is also to keep Appletree Careline in the minds of hospital staff so that they can make referrals and support timely, safe discharges”. And there will be plenty of people who see th e new images, each year the hospital has over 800,00 0 patients and visitors, along with 3,000 students and 1,100 sta members. Matthew Hine, Commercial Development Manager at UHS, said: “Working alongside NFDC, UHS specifically identified appropriate adjacent lift doors at G-level West Wing, near our Medicine for Older People wards and at B-Level West Wing, near to Physiotherapy the hospital discharge bureau and social care teams, these areas are ideally placed to reach people who may benefit from Appletree Careline. As well as reaching out to those people who may need the service. The images on the lift doors also improve the visual appearance of the site. We are delighted to bring this service to the attention of users.” e images on the outside of the li s show the variety of people who may bene t from Appletree Careline; anyone over the age of 18, who may have a disability, a long or short term illness, or who just wants to take proactive steps to nd peace of mind and reassurance.
