BIRD MEETINGS Time and Place: A Historic Photo Call for Hythe & Dibden Residents Time and Place is a collaborative project between Forest Forge eatre and the New Forest Heritage Centre. Together they are looking for photos of the Hythe and Dibden areas from 1900-1990. e project invites residents of Hythe and Dibden to share old photographs from these decades, which show this local area and help to illustrate what’s changed and what’s remained. e villages and towns are changing at a pace and sometimes it’s di cult to remember what they were like and why they have changed. Your old photos could be of Hythe village, family outings, or simply watching the ships go by. Together with renowned playwright David Lane, the project will listen to the stories behind your photographs and piece together the history of the area. ey can also help you to identify your photographs as they are working in partnership with the Waterside Heritage Centre and the team at the New Forest Heritage Centre responsible for the New Forest Knowledge website. If you feel you can add to the New Forest’s archive of photos and stories to help preserve the Waterside heritage, take your photos to one of the following: • Saturday 26th October (from 1pm) at St Andrew’s, Church, Garden Room; • Wednesday 6th November (from 12noon) at St Anne’s Neighborhood Centre, Dibden; • Wednesday 13th November (from 12noon) at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre. Chosen photographs and stories will then form an exhibition in February 2020 at the New Forest Heritage Centre in Lyndhurst. is project also ties in nicely with the Hythe and Waterside Rotary 50th anniversary photographic competition that is looking for photographs of Hythe and Waterside taken over the last 50 years.
