Spring at the Eling Tide Mill Experience Eling Tide Mill Experience (ETME) has a great programme of activity planned taking us through to Summer and beyond. ETME’s Talks Programme has a strong following. Talks are every two months and cover a range of topics: 2020 has local history and true crime mystery in the programme. e next o ering is Wednesday 8th April when Dr Cheryl Butler will be talking on the local Southampton crew of the Titanic. Tickets are £5 available in person or online, but always in advance to avoid the disappointment of being turned away at the door. ere’s been monthly activity for younger members of the community at ETME for some time. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust run a weekend Wildlife Watch Group from ETME with raft building, exploring tides, and more. Saturday 11th April will be all about woodland cra s. Just £5 donation per child. ETME itself offers families opportunities to take part in drop- in hands-on activities in the John Chandler Activity Room each school holiday with their Explore at ETME Days. Over Easter families can drop in on Wednesday 8th April for some Easter-themed fun at £2 per child. Helen Robinson, ETME Manager, says “We have another busy year coming up at Eling Tide Mill Experience! Whether you want to try a willow weaving workshop with an artist, or spend some quality time with your children in one of our Explore at ETME sessions, we’ve got something for you. The benefit of our Activity Room is that visitors can come to ETME, pay admission and explore the Tide Mill & Discovery Room, and if they’re local they can come back again and again for special events in the Activity Room without the cost of full admission each time. Events in the Activity Room are independent of admission to the Tide Mill & Discovery Room”. And if you’re a paying visitor with children, it’s worth checking out the website before your visit to see if there are guided tours for families on o er – these are included in admission. Keep an eye on the Events page! To find full details of ETME’s Easter programme, see their website at www. elingtidemillexperience. co.uk or drop into the Visitor Centre on Lexby Road and pick up some yers.
