Probus Clubs are for retired people to join and enjoy monthly meetings, and meet with like mined people. e Club meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, from 11am, break for lunch at 12.30pm, normally nishing around 3.30pm, at Calmore Sports and Cricket Ground Club House. e next meeting is for a coach trip and local lunch on Wednesday 22nd April for a Downton Abbey visit. BROCKENHURST NEEDLEWORK FIESTA e 2020 Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta takes place in the beautiful New Forest village of Brockenhurst in Hampshire on Saturday 25th April from 10am to 5pm and Sunday 26th April from 10am to 3.30pm at Brockenhurst Village Hall, Highwood Road, Brockenhurst, SO42 7RY. Stalls and exhibits range from the traditional to the contemporaryandincludeembroideryandembellishment; weaving; beading; patchwork; dressmaking; yarns, threads, fabric and notions; specialist supplies and books... and much, much more! In addition to the textile art exhibitors and demonstrators, both local and national traders will be on hand to share their infectious enthusiasm, invaluable knowledge and experience and to supply you with all the specialist books, tools and materials you could possibly need. Light refreshments by the WI are available to purchase including delicious home made cakes! Tickets cost just £3 at the door. Proceeds from the event are used to support local textile groups and raise funds for the local primary school and Village Trust for the benefit of the wider community. With thousands of vinyl records, CD’s, tapes and music memo- rabilia covering all genres, it’s set to be a great event. is event is in association with Hythe Pier Heritage Fund. Parking is available behind the hall in the New Road (Library) car park and the event is easily accessible via Hythe Ferry from Southampton. Secret Southampton e next meeting of the Netley Marsh Parish History Group on Tuesday 28th April will be for a talk by Martin Brisland titled ‘Secret Southampton’. Martin is a Southampton guide and has written a book called ‘Secret Southampton’ based on his knowledge of the city. e meeting takes place at the community hall in Woodlands Road and starts at 7.30pm. COASTAL SCENES IN ACRYLIC AT HYTHE LIBRARY ere will be a course running at Hythe Library on 28th April, 5th May and12th May (3 weeks in total) on Tuesdays from 10am until 1pm. is is a free course. You will need to bring your own materials. e aims of the Course are to enable learners to gain con dence and skill in using acrylics to paint seascapes. Approachable sessions and activities to help develop skills with acrylics. Ideal for those new to acrylics or those wanting to gain con dence. Booking is essential, so contact the Library or call the Booking Line: 023 8084 1457 for more information and to guarantee a place. Experiences of a Documentary Cameraman e Fawley/Holbury U3A meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at the Royal British Legion Club in Black eld at 2pm and the cost is £12 per annum to join the national association. At present each meeting is free to members and visitors are welcome to come along for a small charge.
