Cost: £12 THE LONG GAME Copythorne Amateur eatrical Society will be per- forming ‘ e Long Game’ in Copythorne Parish Hall on Saturday 16th and Friday 22nd May at 7.30pm and on Saturday 23rd May at 2.30 pm. e Long Game by Julie Wilson and by arrangement with LazyBee Scripts. Lawrence Tade, an ambitious business man, and his wealthy new bride Marina settle down to a happy married life. Well, not quite. Lawrence is not quite what he seems and basically he’s just a er her money. He’s also scheming to ruin a local business and make his fortune. Enter a few other characters, most of whom are a bit more ethical than he is. He underestimates his wife’s ability to ght back and the play ends as you wouldn’t quite expect. Ticket to Ride Southampton Choral Society like to make it as easy as possible for anyone to enjoy their concerts, so, as usual, a minibus is organised from the Waterside area to the next concert venue. On Saturday 4th April at 7.30pm they will be at the lovely Dobson eatre in King Edward VI School, Hill Lane, Southampton with the Southampton Baroque Players performing music by Handel and Purcell including the well known ‘Come Ye Sons of Art’. Music at Beaulieu Music at Beaulieu’s Good Friday concert on Friday10th April will be given by the Sarum Consort who make a welcome return visit. e Consort is a professional chamber choir based in Salisbury and they will present a programme of sacred music for Easter including works by Tallis, Byrd, Bach and Palestrina. WATERSIDE MUSICAL SOCIETY Waterside Musical Society are delighted that their President, Mark Ponsford, will be performing his one man show for them at St Andrew’s Church, Dibden Purlieu, at 7.30pm on Saturday 18th April . Membership is available whether or not you have an allotment. e Association boasts nearly 500 members and runs a successful shop on Sundays (10am-12noon) and on Wednesdays (1pm-4pm) during the months of March, April and May. e shop sells a wide vanity of composts, fertilisers (packed and loose), tools and all manner of goods such as ower pots and greenhouse equipment. For many years TAGA has sponsored ten local schools, providing the cash to purchase all their gardening needs from the shop. Recently they became aware of the fact that Lymington Hospital lose many walking aids with holidaymak- ers failing to return them. With the approval of Dr Broughton, CEO Southern Health NHS, they have started collecting all manner of aids such as crutches, frames, everything expect support bars. Such items are collected at the Salmon Leap site for onward transit to the hospital. Readers of e Herald are invited to join them in this venture and take their equipment to the Salmon Leap at the aforementioned opening times. Anyone without transport can phone 023 8066 7825 with a view to local collection. As with so many organisations TAGA is eagerly trying to recruit new members and, speci cally, persons who might, sooner rather than later take up one of the senior roles of the Association. Anyone who may be interested is invited to visit them during their opening hours to have a look around and be briefed by the members on duty. TAGA also o ers an equipment sharpening service (9.30am-11.30am) on the following dates 12th April, 10th May, 14th June, 12th July, 9th August and 13th September . e service is open to non-members and prices are very reasonable.
