Admission is £2 for a meeting, refundable if you join the Society (£5 for a oral art demonstration). Annual Birds in the New Forest Membership for 2020 is £10 per person. Some months they enjoy a workshop where members can choose to have a go themselves with tuition along the way or simply to watch other members put together an arrangement. Enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit with time to chat and mingle, this is usually followed by a ra e and if they’ve have had a demonstration, those arrangements will be ra ed o too. Visitors are charged just £6 per visit, go along, they’re sure you won’t be disappointed. All future meetings have been postponed, contact the club for updates.. Christine Bennett showed a slide show of member’s gardens which showed the diverse range of plants which are grown in local gardens. is was enjoyed by all. e group had refreshments of Cheese and biscuits, wine and home made mince pies. e garden club now look forward to their programme of events for 2020. e next meeting of the Dibden Purlieu Gardening Association will be on Thursday 7th May for a talk by Alan Martin titled ‘Jerusalem Botanic Gardens and gardens of Israel’. On Saturday 16th May , they will be holding their Annual Plant Sale, from 10am at St Andrew’s Church. e club is open to new members and if anyone is interested they can contact Chris Bennett (Secretary) on 023 8084 2006 e Association meets on the rst ursday of the month at St Andrew’s Centre, Dibden Purlieu, 7.30pm. Jerusalem Botanic Gardens Copthorne Nursery and Garden Open Days Copthorne Nursery and Gardens (Fawley Village) is part of Romsey and Waterside Day Services for Adults with learning disabilities. eir next open days are on Wednesday 13th May, Sunday 17th May and Sunday 31st May . e Nursery and gardens support adults with learning disabilities by o ering a variety of opportunities including: bespoke work experience, learning new skills, horticultural and social, developing interests, exploring new activities, enjoying t h e r a p e u t i c experiences, giving time to constructive activities and making a positive contribution to the environment and community. All this within a supportive and encouraging environment, giving the specialist attention not always available in the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Proceeds from the Nursery sales (plants, hanging baskets, woodwork, tea/co ee and cake, logs, and kindling) and the open days make a vital contribution to the running costs of the project. is is further enhanced by the expert help and time given up by loyal volunteers.
