With 2019’s gures that’s over 200 in two years. Having been litter picking for over 8 years mainly in Hythe and Dibden, getting others involved and giving advice across the New Forest and further a eld has been becoming the norm especially during Lockdown. e website www.cleannewforest.org.uk has increasingly been getting visited especially the google map showing where groups are across the New Forest. Now over 3,600 visits. • On the Waterside and in Totton it has been especially good to see the continuing work of individuals as well as groups. • Big shout out to Dominic and his mum who have held a monthly beach clean at Goatee Beach, Eling for a number of years. - 1st Sunday of the month starting at 10am. picking it did not have the following it has now. All doing a fantastic job on our side of the New Forest. It has been good to help the National Park with their new scheme in providing litter pickers and hi-vis to many individuals. My fellow ambassadors across the UK were really helpful in sharing what organisations and Councils in their areas were doing so the New Forest National Park Authority (NFNPA) didn’t have to start from scratch. Contact the National Park for more details. A number of schools have been provided with litter picking kits across the New Forest at no cost to their budgets though this has ground to a bit of a halt with COVID-19 and visits to schools. When I started litter Peter was joined by staff from Skanska on the litter pick e Chairlady and Committee are regularly reviewing the situation regarding Coronavirus and the measures the Government have in place as well as their meeting venue in Dibden Purlieu. As things stand at the moment our meetings are still suspended until such time as we feel it is safe to get together again.
