EBOH has recorded and transcribed memories from residents and now the stories can be heard through listening stations which have been installed in the village. e Turfcutters Arms houses a listening station where the public can hear stories about East Boldre characters and childhood memories (this is accessible during pub opening hours). ree further listening stations are installed in East Boldre Village Hall and School Fields Trust Hall (these are accessible by appointment). Oral history interpretation is also situated in the adopted BT kiosk at Hatchet Pond village - this includes a QR code which links to a sound cloud where audio recordings are available: www. soundcloud.com/user-510714237 is project aims to record memories and tales of an East Boldre as it was and install a sense of community and pride, capturing memories before they are lost. It gives a voice to the families who have lived in the village for generations and who are aware of the fast- changing community. EBOH work with local schools to help children understand the village history, running workshops at South Baddesley, William Gilpin and the group are going to be working with Beaulieu School; taking contributors to the schools to discuss their memories. is project has support and funding from: e New Forest National Park Authority, East Boldre Parish Council, Hampshire County Council, Beaufort Trust, East Boldre Village Hall Trust, East Boldre School Fields Trust, New Forest Heritage Centre and New Forest District Council. Sadly, like so many other organisations COVID- 19 has temporarily scuppered plans for an o cial opening of the listening stations, but they are planning to celebrate when restrictions are li ed. is has been a hugely successful project which celebrates heritage and pride in belonging to an amazing community!
