With a love of high fat, high sugar foods she learnt very quickly that this was not a healthy way to eat and would nd herself hiding cakes and chocolate in her room that she had brought on the way home from school. As she moved into adult life she tried many quick x diets to get instant results and managing a slimmer size 12 on her wedding day. However, as soon as she began to eat normally again the weight would pile back on, especially a er having her two children she started to nd it even harder to loose weight. Jade says: “I was mortified! Now pushing in to a size 16 I realised I had to do something about my weight and find a healthier way to enjoy life. I never enjoyed exercise, and hated the thought of doing it but after covering myself up throughout the whole summer enough was enough, I did not want to feel like this anymore” In October 2018 she joined Michelle Harwood’s Slimming World Group in Dibden Purlieu. Along with her 3 friends she thought they would keep each other motivated and o er a bit of friendly competition amongst themselves too. With Slimming World’s Food Optimising Plan and the support she has received in group, Jade has now lost 3 stone and achieved more than she thought possible resetting her target weight to achieve her dream of being a comfortable size 10. Jade says: “For the first time in a long time, I love looking in the mirror and enjoy clothes shopping again. I’ve gained so much confidence back and have even started using the Gym and Spin Class which I now really enjoy. I’ve certainly got the bug to exercise and be much more active on a daily basis. My children have noticed the change in me too which makes me so happy to know I am setting a positive example of how to eat well and stay healthy so they don’t grow up with the same habits I did.” Jade loves attending her weekly Slimming World group, has made so many new friends and has even joined the social team where she enjoys helping all her fellow slimmers. Her family enjoy all the delicious Food Optimised meals she cooks up at home too like lasagne, chilli and breakfast mu ns with pancakes being a rm favourite, but most of all they are so happy to see her beaming with self con dence with endless amounts of energy to enjoy every second of life.
