It is a legal requirement that ALL organisations do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so. Organisations with which you have an on-going relationship, for example those who regard you as a customer, or in the case of charities, may well gather your consent during the early stages of your relationship with them and will therefore be entitled to call you even if your number is registered on TPS, unless you have previously told them speci cally that you object to them calling you for marketing purposes. e TPS can accept the registration of mobile telephone numbers, however it is important to note that this will prevent the receipt of marketing voice calls, but not SMS (text) messages. If you wish to stop receiving SMS marketing messages, send an ‘opt-out’ request to the company involved. Once a number has been successfully registered it is placed on the national ‘do not call’ register immediately, so organisations engaging in live unsolicited direct marketing calls know not to call it. is can take up to 28 days for the registration to become fully e ective. As TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research. To register with TPS, telephone: 0345 070 0707 or visit: www.tpsonline. org.uk For more details about TPS and the other preference services such as Mailing Preference Service (MPS) visit www.tpsonline.org.uk OPT OUT OF UNWANTED CALLS Local Superstar Teachers Make Shine Studios Truly Shine Local dance school Shine Studios, based at New Forest Academy in Holbury, has stepped up to help local performers le without work due to the pandemic. As previously reported Shine Studios won the Gold Award in the Dance School of Year Awards, particularly being recognised as being at the centre of the local community and their associated work with such. Co-Principal Katie Day said “Being a small local business we have had to adapt and take our provision online. We thought of local performers who have found themselves in a truly awful position and how we could possibly help.” Co-Principal Emma Williams added: “We have so many local peers with incredible credentials, more than people realise, so I created an amazing timetable of classes to give local children the experience of being taught by superstar teachers which they otherwise may not be able to geographically or financially access.” Shine Studios’ Zoom classes include tuition from performers with credentials such as MTV, Cats, the Olympics, and Warner Bros UK. Local performer Hannah Levitt-Collins who herself has credits such as Star Wars, Dua Lipa and Jennifer Lopez to her name said: “It’s been so incredible to see a dance studio supporting teachers and the arts throughout the pandemic. Shine Studios have gone that extra mile to create work for guest teachers and give their students access to incredible learning and motivation after such a turbulent year. Well done Shine Studios!” For more information on Shine Studios’ o erings both online and back in the studio please visit: www. shinestudios.co.uk Local guest performer, Hannah Levitt-Collins LAYOVER AT LEPE Lepe Country Park is currently acting as an Airbnb for the birds who are choosing the south coast as a place to stay this Winter. When the tide is low the beach o ers a variety of excellent food and the dark water is an ideal place to rest and recuperate. Lepe only hope they will give good reviews! You will most probably nd Brent Geese, Curlews, Oyster Catchers and Turnstones down on the beach plus a great deal more over on Lepe Point looking over the river. If you are local and using the park as part of your daily exercise routine please stick to the paths and use the upper part of the beach. is is to ensure you don’t disturb their feathered friends. If you’re out walking your pooch, the birds would greatly appreciate if the dogs are kept on the lead. e birds spend a lot of time trying to build up their energy by foraging along the shore, and if they are disturbed by dogs running by - they will use up their vital energy by taking ight. ere is lots of space around the park for everyone and everything to enjoy together. ank you for taking the care to ensure the park remains a haven for all.
