Councillor Stephen Reid, County Council Executive Member for Commercial Strategy, Human Resources and Performance, said: “Hampshire County Council recognises the significant benefits of electric vehicles, particularly in relation to air quality, public health, and the carbon reduction target set out in our Climate Change Strategy to make Hampshire carbon neutral by 2050. As part of our continued investment and support for sustainable energy solutions, in April 2018 our Property Services team launched the Central Southern Regional Framework for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, in partnership with Joju Charging as the installation partner, to lead the way in getting more electric vehicle charging points installed across Hampshire and the south of England. To date, more than 60 public sector bodies such as local councils and universities have used the framework to install more than 200 charging points across Hampshire, with a further 1,000 charging points already planned for installation over the next year. I am delighted that our continued work to grow the use of sustainable transport has been recognised with an Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence (EVIE) Award for Public Sector Infrastructure Strategy of the Year, and extend my congratulations to the teams across the County Council and our supplier, Joju Charging, who have contributed to this important work.” e Central Southern Regional Framework for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure is open to public bodies based in and around Hampshire, Berkshire, Devon, Dorset, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire, and o ers all types of charge points including rapid charge points (half- hour charge), fast charge points (three- to-four-hour charge) and charge points incorporated into lamp posts. e charge points o ered by the framework can be used across a variety of settings, such as on-street and public car parks for use by members of the public, or to power an organisation’s own eet of electric vehicles. For example, if policyholders now work from home, parking their car on a private driveway, not using their car for business use or the commuter journey could potentially result in a reduced premium.” Recommended by 97% of reviewers, Quotezone.co.uk helps around 3 million users every year, with over 400 insurance brands across 60 di erent products including niche items such as tradesman insurance, driving school insurance and farm vehicle insurance. Members of the police force pay the cheapest car insurance premiums for insuring their personal vehicles, according to new data from a leading UK motoring insurance comparison website. Quotezone.co.uk found annual premiums for police professionals come in at an average of £489. e next lowest premiums, by profession, are for ministers of religion, £547 and driving instructors, at £591. At the other end of the scale, hospitality sta copped some of the highest average insurance premiums, with restaurant managers paying an average of £968, bar sta , £964, and restaurateurs, £934. e analysis is based on a sample of over 800,000 car insurance policies compiled from across the UK during 2020. Responding to the data, Quotezone.co.uk founder Greg Wilson comments: “Your occupation is just one of the variables that go into an insurance provider’s premium calculation, but it is an important one. “It’s probably not surprising that police professionals and driving instructors benefit from some of the cheapest car insurance premiums when they’re insuring their own vehicles, because people who either teach the rules of the road or uphold them, are perhaps more likely to comply with those rules and regulations themselves. But whatever your occupation happens to be, it’s clear that your job title can have a significant impact on your car insurance premium. Given how many people have changed jobs recently and the fact that many may be thinking about doing so as we begin a new year, it is worth stressing that policyholders have an obligation to inform their car insurance providers if there has been a material change to their policy details, such as job title. It’s also worth bearing in mind that smaller
