Olivia Inspires recently provided £4,000 of funding to support pupils at Hounsdown School in Totton. Assistant Headteacher Kirsty Hibberd was delighted, saying: “The donation from Olivia Inspires has made a huge difference to some of our most vulnerable young people at Hounsdown School. It has enabled us to provide online tuition for these students from excellent Maths specialists. Not only have the students been engaging in lessons but most importantly, many of the students have new found confidence in their ability and their passion for learning has been ignited.” is follows on from funding awarded to every secondary school in the New Forest district during the rst lockdown. Olivia Inspires has also been supporting individual applicants. e most recent was a young lady who asked Olivia Inspires for help to buy a camera for her photography GCSE studies. e charity was incredibly happy to be able to help and she is delighted with the camera. She said: “Thank you so much for awarding me a camera. It is amazing and I am incredibly grateful to you for choosing me. Hopefully, we’ll be back at school soon so that it can help with my GCSE photography course. I am also exceedingly di cult. ey certainly weren’t expecting a global pandemic when they set up Olivia Inspires just over a year ago. Sadly, they’ve had to cancel fundraising events, so are particularly grateful to the people who have supported them with donations, from County Councillors to individuals who have heard about the charity and just want to help. ey have also had great support from Sir Ben Ainslie and his INEOS Team UK sailing in the America’s Cup who have donated a selection of team clothing for auction.
