The Totton Men’s Shed is a liated to the National UK Men’s Shed Association. It was formed by, and is part of, the Totton & Eling Community Association. e Totton Men’s Shed building is now complete and waiting for COVID- 19 lockdown to be over so that they can open. ere are now many Totton Area Men’s Shed members who, in the Members outside the Totton Men’s Shed More Progress: ey are currently putting together a group of ‘Committee members’ and ‘Session Managers’ who are needed to ensure that the shed is safely run and fully complies with the Charity Commission rules. Friendships were made and support networks were created. e Men’s Shed members currently meet every other Tuesday at 11am on Zoom. Everyone, over 18 (both men and women), is welcome. Many of the “shedders” are men aged over 55 years, some of whom live alone, and many have long-term health conditions. is group of older men are o en reluctant to join other local activities. Even without a ‘shed’ the Totton Area Men’s Shed has attracted the interest of over 100 local men, many of whom have taken part in its activities. ey expect this to increase substantially when the ‘shed’ is open!
