Qualifying also as ‘B’ Umpire for Southampton Ladies (Phyl’s club), New Milton and Hampshire Hockey. David was appointed Honorary President of New Forest Hockey Club in recognition of many years’ dedication to hockey. David supported Phyl unwaveringly throughout her globetrotting Hockey career as Club and County Player, Hampshire Chairman and President of Southern Counties Women’s Hockey Association. A er retiring from teaching in 1995, David took up art and golf and became an active member of New Forest Golf Club in 2000. He moved to Walhampton Golf Club in 2015 where he also became Press Rep. Many happy hours were spent on those fairways. Upon retiring David caught Phyl’s travel bug, enjoying many fabulous wonders abroad. David told the story of attending a Maori Cultural evening in New Zealand and experiencing an authentic Haka greeting which he admitted was a bit scary! Travels took them to America, Peru, and China (where he lived on chips, noodles, and pizza), Egypt, Jordan, Norway, and much of Europe. David spent his last few weeks at Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington. His family are incredibly grateful for the exceptional care that they provided and would like any donations in his memory to go to Oakhaven, via: www.justgiving.com/david-henry- hart David lived his life for others, rarely, if ever, seeking praise for himself. His greatest pleasure came from seeing those around him enjoying life. He was a devoted husband, father, and granddaddy to ve grandsons.
