Andy joined the Calshot crew in 2011 and has progressed to become an experienced Helm, alongside heading up the training and assessments of all crew on station as LTA. Since joining the crew 10 years ago, Andy has made a signi cant career change. For a long time, he worked as Manager of Residential Children’s Homes for youngsters with ADHD, EBD, ASD and Attachment Disorder. He is the kind of person who really does get so much out of helping others and with that in mind, he took the decision to move things to a new level. He now works full time as SCAS – ECA (Emergency Care Assistant) delivering emergency, Andy is dedicated and driven, and encourages those around him to succeed too, giving so much of his precious spare time to ensure the new generation of Lifeboat crew are equipped with the training and support they need as Calshot RNLI crew of the future. Calshot RNLI’s Superheroes life-saving and non-emergency urgent clinical care alongside his ‘buddy’ paramedic, as ambulance crew. Working on the front line during the COVID-19 Pandemic, whilst studying towards a Paramedic Science BSc (Hons) Degree AND supporting the Lifeboat, has been a huge challenge, but he has ‘eaten it up’!
