National Fish and Chip Day 2020 saw people across the country coming together to celebrate their love of sh and chips and TV, radio, newspaper and social media was buzzing with stories! e #nationalfishandchipday hashtag was trending all day long. Friday 4th June 2021 looks set to be a fantastic celebration and we want as many shops to get involved as possible! is event is championed by trade organisation, e National Edible Oil Distributors Association (NEODA) who represent all the major re ners, key packers and distributors of edible oils as well as suppliers of non-oil products (such as batter mix, sausages, packaging, range manufacturers and potato preservatives) in the UK. National Edible Oil Distributors Association (NEODA) is delighted to announce that the most popular awareness day of the year, National Fish and Chip Day, will be returning for its sixth year and will take place on Friday 4th June 2021. Thank Cod for Fish and Chips! e celebration of the nation’s favourite dish will bring together everyone involved in creating CLLR NEVILLE PENMAN WINS AN AWARD an award for going above and beyond the call of duty to help vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Totton! People who know Nev will know that he never stops in his quest to make Totton a better place! His dedication to Totton and the people that live there is second to none. Whenever you see him he’s always dashing o to help someone else, or going litter picking, doing someone’s shopping, organising events or a multitude of other good deeds! Sadly, the awards ceremony in Winchester has been cancelled due to COVID-19, but the High Sheri , Rev Sue Colman, is arranging for him to be presented with his award before the end of March. As many will know Councillor Neville Penman is quite a modest chap but he has won an award for his community work!! Launched in 2020, the High Sheri of Hampshire Awards recognise local people for their work within the community. Neville has received Cllr Neville Penman e Railway Club of the New Forest gather together for a Zoom presentation on Friday 26th March . ‘ e Swanage Railway’ is the topic of Mike Walshaw’s presentation covering a broad sweep of the Swanage Railway from its inception in the 1880’s though the LSWR, SR and BR (SR) Eras, closure and its re-construction as a Heritage Railway connected once again to the National Network. Swanage Railway Like many local clubs, Waterside Wooodcarvers have e ectively been ‘on hold’ for almost a year. ey know their members have really missed the camaraderie and support that their regular workshops and socials have provided. However, looking ahead, they are optimistic about the summer and autumn and have booked the large hall at St Andrew’s, Dibden Purlieu for the a ernoon of Saturday 18th September . With such a good, large indoor space and adjacent free parking, they plan to have an exhibition of their member’s work and there would be room for other cra groups to join in. ey know how important the social side of these clubs can be.
