Personal foot care is particularly important for older people as good foot health can reduce pain or discomfort, improve con dence, quality of life and independence. Healthy feet can also help people to remain physically active, allowing them to get out and about in their local community and increase their energy levels and general zest for life. Importantly, neglecting personal foot care needs can contribute to falls, which might otherwise be avoided. anks to a grant from the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation, and a generous discount from Damart, Age Concern New Forest will be able to o er new slippers to the clients of our regular local foot clinics during the colder weather. Age Concern New Forest currently holds foot care clinics for older people in Totton, Hythe and Black eld. To book an appointment or for further information please telephone: 023 8084 1199. Understanding how important good foot care is to their clients, the foot clinics are still operating for local people aged 55+. ey have taken many extra precautions to make them COVID-Safe. ey also o er Toenail cutting for £20 or Toe & Fingernails for £25. e registered Podiatrists and Chiropodists are also able to give foot care advice and information on other treatments available. Waterside Good Neighbours volunteers could help with transport if required. Offering a Helping Hand During Lockdown - Advice for Vulnerable Residents Hampshire County Council is advising Hampshire residents that anyone who needs help during the national lockdown can access support seven days a week via a dedicated helpline. Call the Hampshire Coronavirus Support and Helpline on: 0333 370 4000 (local rate charges apply). For the duration of the national lockdown, the helpline is open as follows: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Weekends 10am-3pm.
